Lip Embroidery: What You need to Know & The Common Misconceptions

It is not a secret that semi-permanent lip embroidery is taking the world by storm. but when It comes to lip embroidery, I noticed that ladies are still skeptical about them. Everybody who knows me personally knows how much I enjoy working on lips and in this post, I will try to clear up the most common misconceptions and faulty impressions about lip embroidery.

Lips hardly hold the color

This question kept me confused for a long time till I figured out the reason behind it!

Usually, ladies who plan to get Lip Embroidery ask for natural nude colors, they test the shades at the back of their hands, forgetting that in embroidery we implant the pigment into the dermis of the lips so the color will not look as vivid as its swatch.

This is why I recommend my clients not to be afraid of choosing darker shades than the desired ones. In the end, lips will only hold 50% of the color you see in the bottle.

Grabbing a photo of Botox plumbed-up lips

Lip embroidery involves implanting the pigment into the skin. It is not a filler or Botox! This treatment does not increase the size of the lips; rather, it enhances the lip border and gives an illusion of bigger and more defined lips.

So If you are looking to get Kylie Jenner full lips, A plastic sergeant is the right person for that mission!

Would I be able to wear lipstick over my lip embroidery?

Relax .. Who said you would not be able to enjoy your favorite lippies?! Lip Semi Permanent Makeup would never be as intense as lipstick, It will always give that natural lip color.

Here is a bonus tip for perfect lipstick application: buff some foundation and powder on your lips to neutralize the embroidery color, then apply the desired lipstick. This step also makes lipstick last for longtime 😉

 Lip embroidery ages darker

The answer here is no. By working only on the candidate’s lips and choosing the right color and undertone, it will age wonderfully and become lighter over time. Therefore, it is very important to look for a qualified artist with many healed work photos because, ladies, you are going to live with the healed results!

Overline my lips, please!

Hold on .. Again, lip embroidery is not like makeup. Thinking of over-lining your lips to make them look thicker is not a good idea. Working on the skin (out the vermilion border) will end up with inconsistent color because the skin does not take the color as lips do. By the time, lips will look smudged and the lipliner as if it’s melting.

Lighten up my dark lips

Unfortunately, lip microblading or micro-pigmentation is not for everyone. It is not the cure for dark blue and purple lips. Artists should be very careful when assessing lips before touching them. We all need to know that lips with freckles, ethnic dark lips, and multi-toned lips are NOT candidates to work on as they are prone to hyper-pigmentation.

It is awfully painful

We can not deny that lips are the most sensitive part of our bodies but topical anesthetics have developed a lot recently to work on lips with minimum pain. I had a couple of clients sleep while doing their lips 🙂

What is Dark Lip Neutralization

What is Lip Embroidery and Coloring?

Lip embroidery, also known as lip micropigmentation or lip tinting, is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the natural color and shape of your lips. Using a specialized tool, a skilled artist implants pigment into the lips, creating a fuller, more defined look. It’s perfect for those who want to add subtle color, correct asymmetry, or achieve a more youthful appearance without the daily hassle of applying lipstick.

Growing Popularity in Malaysia

Lip embroidery and coloring have seen a surge in popularity in Malaysia, thanks to the increasing demand for low-maintenance beauty solutions. Many women (and some men!) are turning to this procedure for its ability to provide a natural yet enhanced lip look that lasts.

Benefits of Lip Embroidery

1. Long-Lasting Results: Unlike regular lipstick, which needs constant reapplication, lip embroidery provides a lasting tint that can endure for one to three years, depending on your skin type and aftercare routine.

2. Customizable: Whether you want a natural shade that mimics your lips’ color or a bolder hue, the procedure can be tailored to your preferences.

3. Time-Saving: Imagine waking up with perfectly tinted lips every day. Lip embroidery saves you time in your daily makeup routine and ensures your lips look flawless from morning to night.

4. Youthful Appearance: By defining the lip line and adding color, lip embroidery can make your lips appear fuller and more youthful.

The Procedure

Lip embroidery involves several steps:

  1. Consultation: Discuss your desired color and shape with the artist. This is your chance to express exactly what look you’re aiming for.
  2. Preparation: The artist will clean your lips and apply a numbing cream to minimize discomfort.
  3. Pigmentation: Using a fine needle or digital machine, the artist will implant the chosen pigment into your lips.
  4. Aftercare: Proper aftercare is crucial. You’ll be given instructions on how to care for your lips to ensure optimal healing and color retention.

Lip embroidery in Malaysia and coloring are fantastic options to enhance your natural beauty. Whether you’re after lip blushing or a more defined lip line, this semi-permanent solution can save you time. As with any cosmetic procedure, doing your research and choosing a reputable artist is key to achieving the best results.
